![]() Event Date: November 19-20, 2016 So for a while I've been doing these pop-up photo studios at cosplay events. I haven't really seen anything similar to these so I figured why not try to market it more. With convention season dying down, I was planning to see what I could bring up for next year's con, when out of nowhere, I get asked by the organizers of Palm Springs Comic Con if I'd be interested in setting up a pop-up studio. I think about it for a bit, and what it would entail, but after asking some friends, I decided to go for it. I got there friday night, a little later than I'd hope because of some travel complications so I end up getting up ridiculously early to set up Saturday morning. I notice my space was a little more snug than what I'm used to working with in terms of a studio, but I make the best of it and some really cool stuff came the weekend. I was super happy that this wasn't a convention where I knew nobody, and that I ran into some friendly faces like Maid of Might, BBoySpiderman, LostWeasleyChild and countless more. For a first time convention that far from some of the other major cities, the weekend was success. It was bustling, but not crowded and the vibe was an overall positive experience. In spite of the rocky start, I couldn't recommend this con enough for those looking to not be overwhelmed by what the bigger city conventions would bring. With that, here are the shots I took over this weekend. Sidenote: The Kitchen at The Hard Rock Hotel was amazing.
