![]() Shoot Date: May 19, 2016 I met Kallie at a random shoot I participated in a while ago. She was there to accompany her sister to the shoot. There was a small lull in shooting where everyone else was busy except for her, so I decided to grab Kallie and take some photos. The images from there we breathtaking and I knew we had to do more. We planned a shoot for a few weeks later and we loved what we made. It was one of the best shoots I've done with a first time model. We've shot a few times since then, and she's now in demand by photographers around the country and even took over the Fuse Magazine snapchat for a fun shoot we did. I love breaking in new talent. Below are just a selection of the many photos taken that day. ![]() Shoot Date: March 31, 2016. On the night of March 30, I get a message from Rian asking if I was available the next morning. I actually had nothing planned, so she suggested we go out and do a random dance shoot. I'm always game for random things, so I agree. Then I'm told she wanted to do a video shoot. It's been a while since I've done something like this, but I am always down for the cause. She drives over to my place we meet up and do some shots here, then we move on to Chatsworth where we hike a bit up the Santa Susana Pass until we find a nice spot. From then Rian pulls out some improv interpretive dancing, which I record. Everything movement was spontaneous as we worked off each other's ideas and movements. End of the day we played with my pets for a bit before she went off to work. Knowing who I am, if I just let this video sit, I would never work on it. So I'm here to present to you, "Dancing Weather." ![]() Shoot Date: January 1, 2016 Back in 2013, I photographed the Treasure Island Music Festival for Myspace. During one of the days, I met Stephanie in the silent disco room partying it up. I took a photo of her and asked for her info to send her a bigger version or let her know whenever it went live. I couldn't remember. We became friends on the internet and over time we've come to admire each other's work that we did. Unfortunately, I had just moved to Los Angeles after living in the Bay Area for a number of years, and we never really could get our schedules together. That is until this year. I had told her I was going to San Francisco to photograph a New Year's Eve party. I didn't hear from her until early New Year's day, saying she wanted to make it a point to not miss an opportunity to meet up. I couldn't have agreed more. I got my sleep deprived butt out of my friend's bean bag chair, showered, packed my backpack and headed out to Golden Gate Park. The shoot came at a perfect time, as I was feeling burnt out photographing event after event, with the occasional cosplay shoot. It was a good release of getting my mind off of the chaos that are event and concert photography. Thanks again, Steph for helping me unwind mentally. ![]() Shoot Date: November 22, 2011 So I met Misty back in January of 2010. Not really sure how we ended up meeting up, but I'm positive the first time we did, we took photos. Since then we've had many random photographic adventures. We've randomly adventured in Topanga Canyon, had a few crazy deals in cemeteries and industrial alleys. Most recently, she moved out to Texas to her family, to raise her son. I'd be lying to say that I don't miss her, because she was always down for anything. While I was looking through some archived shots to post for a throwback thursday on Instagram, I came across this shoot we did, that wasn't publicised as much at other ones we did. So I figured this would be the best place to post some. It won't tide me over for long though. I can't get enough of her inspiration and excitement. Luckily she'll be back in October, where I plan to get in as much photo time with her until she has to leave back to Texas. |
