Still getting a hang a concise format, so bear with me while I hammer things down.
Let me tell you a story about Courtney Cruz. She's one of the coolest chicks I've met, and I was super honored she let me shoot her and the equally babely and awesome Olivia Bellafontaine's brainchild "Pussy Bang Bang." 
What's that you ask? 
Well, remember the Star Girls post that was up a little ago? It's like that, but instead of hot women in Star Wars outfits, they're hot women as iconic grindhouse themed characters, with one exception. Kitten Natividad, from basically every Russ Meyer film, portrayed her bad ass self!

Shortly after I moved from San Francisco back to Los Angeles, I ended up reconnecting with my awesome friend Babs who also moved from SF to LA before I did, She wanted to work on a video project with me behind the camera, involving musicians. The content of which, I won't get into at the moment.
We filmed a test with Kam from The Chain Gang of 1974 (you may know him from the song "Sleepwalking" on Grand Theft Auto 5). 
He was such a cool dude, and he told me about him performing a few days later at the Echo. From there, I took this opportunity to get even more behind the scenes shots from a musical act. Hopefully I'll be able to get this all in book form one day, 

I was assigned to do a crowdsurfing assignment for Myspace a couple weekends ago at Hard Summer.

While I was able to finish it, it didn't stop me from taking photos of the festivities myself! Check out this small gallery of some amazing artists.

July was a hell of a month in general. One of the best parts of it was getting back in with Myspace projects after a hiatus. 
I pitched the idea of covering the Star Girls Burlesque show to my editor early July, and she loved it. 
I ended up shooting the show and doing a quick interviewing its coordinator Courtney Cruz for it.  
Needless to say, I took a ton of photos, many of which were not submitted or used for the article (click for link) that was posted. 
I didn't feel like short changing the talent of the dancers or anyone who happens to follow me and my work, so here is my uncut selection from their July 31 show.

A month ago, I ventured off to Anime Expo with my friends Flip Cassidy and Calvin Alagot to photograph cosplayers and random things. I posted photos that weren't published on San Francisco Weekly's slideshow, but wasn't able to publish the photos I took that they took— Until now.
